Rolf Heine, born 1960, began his nursing career by practicioning in an old people’s home. He did his nursing training at the “Freie Krankenpflegeschule an der Filderklinik”, Filderstadt, Germany.

Rolf Heine gained professional experience on internal and surgery wards with the emphasis on Anthroposophic Nursing for serious ill and dying patients. He has been head of nursing in surgery, internal and gynecological departments. Currently he works at the Filderklinik (Anthroposophic Hospital, Filderstadt, Germany) in nursing management, training, further education, quality management. He is founder and director of the Academy of Anthroposophic Nursing at the Filderklinik.

He has been board member of the German Anthroposophic Nursing Association (VfAP) for 17 years. He is member of the German Council of Nursing (DPR) and board member of the Dachverband Anthroposophische Medizin in Deutschland (DAMiD). Since 2000 he is coordinator of the International Forum for Anthroposophic Nursing and since 2014 president of the International Council of Anthroposophic Nursing Associations (ICANA).    

Rolf Heine wrote numerous articles on holistic, integrative and anthroposophic nursing in various journals and has edited numerous books on Anthroposophic Nursing and Medicine, e.g. “Anthroposophische Pflegepraxis”, Berlin, 2015 and “Führungsfragen und Arbeitsformen in der anthroposophisch-medizinischen Bewegung”, Dornach, 2015.
