Since 1995, Stefan N. Willich has been Professor and Director of the Institute for Social Medicine, Epidemiology and Health Economics at Charité University Medical Center Berlin. In addition he was Chairman of CharitéCentrum 1 for Human and Health Sciences from 2005 to 2012. From 2012 to 2014 he was President of the Conservatory of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin.

Prof. Willich is founding president of the European Society of Integrative Medicine, Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and of the American College of Cardiology, member of several medical societies, and he was Chairman of the German Society for Health Economics. He studied medicine in Munich and received a Master of Public Health from Harvard University, USA, and a Master of Business Administration at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

He is a specialist and habilitated for internal medicine. His research focuses are prevention, cardiovascular diseases, health services research and health economics, as well as integrative medicine with more than 500 publications.
